Title One Reading is an early intervention that supports students who have been identified as reading below grade level expectation. A student is recommended for the extra support by their teacher. It is based on their classroom observations, I-ready diagnostic screening, and benchmark reading assessments. A parent may also request a screening if they feel their child is struggling in reading. You will be asked to fill out a literacy survey to help me get to know your child better. If your child is selected he/she will be given a Response to Intervention (RTI) plan. This plan will outline the objectives and goals that will be the focus of instruction in assisting your child's reading development. Instruction will take place in a small group with between 3-5 students working on the same objectives for a half hour three to five times a week. Their progress will be monitored using skill assessments and running records. I hope you find this website helpful in keeping you informed about Title One.
